He's still pretty young to start crowing. I have a 5 month old rooster who hasn't even attempted to crow yet. All chickens will mature at different rates. Just give him time.
I am. His first few attempts at about 8 weeks were funny. It made him sneeze. I'm a 13 week long chicken mom. I worry that I might mess something up.

Sometimes when we've had birds for a few years (or some cases, dacades!) we forget how anxious we first were about every minor detail. I remember when I first got into aquariums a few years ago, every odd movement my fish made would make me nervous!

Seems to me like you're a great chicken parent, and your birds look beautiful and healthy!

No need to worry about him taking some time to crow. It's not unhear of for cockerels to have a few early attempts at the 8 week (or so) mark, and then not crow for a while. As Silverbirds said, he'll crow eventually. Most of mine, LFs (Large Fowl) especially take some time. 5 and a half, 6, 6 and a half is common here. He's a brahma, and those typically mature slower. That's usually a good thing, IME.

Good luck with your gorgeous group, I'm sure your boy will crow eventually!

Thank you. I am doing my best. I haven't lost anyone yet.

I asked thos in another thread bt wanted to add it here.

It's about Squatting. All the birds squat when they poop. Is the "squatting" that is mentioned similar? If not, what should I look for?
