Help - 10 degree difference between bator and thermometer?

Hi all,

I just got a Magicfly / Janoel 12 Incubator and need some help with the temp. I bought a secod thermometer / hygrometer from Petsmart (meant for reptile aquariams) to help calibrate the temp, but I think it must be way off because it's been saying my incubator is close to 110 degrees when it's set at 37 C. That just can't be right.

Now I'm paranoid, because I don't know which is way off - the incubator or the external temp, but the difference is making me nervous. I have a feeling it's the external thermometer, but would love some guidance to ensure I'm not cooking the new duck babies I just put in yesterday. :(

Any help is appreciated - thanks!

Update: I took the thermometer/ hygrometer out and it's registering my room as 8 degrees higher than it actually is, so think that may be the issue. Going to swing by petco to pick up a a backup thermometer just to be sure I haven't been cooking my babies the last day.

Perhaps the hygrometer is accurate but the temp is not? The 55% sounds accurate to me based on the water I added in and the dry area I live in.

Not quite as hot as what the thermometer was posting, but he hatched at Day 23 so I assume it was still a little toasty. However, he hatched with absolutely no issues and he's honestly my smartest, most energetic duckling, so counting my lucky stars! :)

The other ended up infertile.
