possible slipped tendon- please help!

Hi all,

I am newish to raising chicks (I chickens growing up, but I'm realizing I know nothing about raising chicks myself!) I have a mixed group of chicks that are 13 days old. I just noticed today that one chick has what I believe is a slipped tendon. I followed the pea-chick thread about treating a slipped tendon and have attempted to re-place the tendon (which I'm still not sure that I've properly done) and wrapped the leg with athletic tape. I am worried that I've done more harm then good (chick seemed happy enough beforehand, eating/drinking/playing) and now the chick seems distressed from the wrap (laying down and cheeping for her sisters in the tank next to her). I don't know what to do, if this is truly slipped tendon, if I am doing the right thing to wrap the leg, etc. Please help, I'm in tears over my poor baby chick.

Similar story here...were you able to find out anything to help your chick?
Check my thread. Treated my chick and she is now starting to use her leg. We reposition the tendon and vet wrapped it for 4 days and than re-wrapped it for an extra 3 full days. But on the last 2 days we added a little splint because my chick had reverted her leg to it facing backwards. She hopped on one leg like a ninja chicken. But her muscle were very weak. So on the last two days we used a pipe cleaner to position it more appropriate and vet wrapped it up. Took it off on Friday and Sunday night she started applying pressure and using her leg. But in my thread there are good pictures and advice links. We tried the chair and for us it didn’t work out. Depending on how your chick responds the vet wrap may need to be on longer or lesser.
