Haha, nope, I had rotten luck as I always do with the Easter hatchalong. I did get one little weirdo out of them, though, plus a Cochin bantam from my own flock's eggs.

Haha, shipped eggs are such a gamble! I had 24 shipped eggs last month and got 6 chicks total Some expensive chicks, haha. I got a really good deal on some eggs from only a couple hours away, so I'm trying again for some more d'Anvers. I bought 10 but she sent me 18, so I *might* have a chance at getting more than one or two! haha.

I got a really good deal on some eggs from only a couple hours away, so I'm trying again for some more d'Anvers. I bought 10 but she sent me 18, so I *might* have a chance at getting more than one or two! haha.

Yeah, for sure! It doesn't help that these eggs were packed on their sides, so all the air cells were jiggly and leaning in that direction. The plus side to the little naked neck bitty is that that's a dominant gene, so I can just hatch her eggs (or put him over some hens if it turns out to be a little cockerel) and get more that way without gambling with shipping in more.

Isn't she precious? She's my very first naked neck chicken. I was hoping for a few more but, well, at least I got the one!
