Ended 13th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-Along—Fluffy Butt Photo Contest

This may not be the best photo of them all but it holds great emotional attachment for me. This is Sansa (left) and Lilly (right). Sansa and Lilly were best friends from the moment they met even though Sansa was about 4 years Lilly's junior and way down the pecking order (Lilly is my alpha hen). They were inseparable and often spent the evening just like this.

Two good friends discussing the day. That great big worm they found and their luck at getting some leftover spaghetti.

Sansa passed earlier this year not having even lived 2 years. Lilly is probably nearing 7 years old now and I'm certain she has never had a better friend than Sansa.View attachment 3062356

I know that I miss seeing them together every evening.

5 days after I posted this, while I was in Italy for my daughter's wedding, Lilly passed away. It gives me comfort to know that know that every evening Lilly and Sansa are together again walking and talking over the day's adventures.

Ok, this isn't an actual entry, but my GF made me post this since she LOVED this chicken "Fluffer-Butt" who was a Blue Australorp that we lost to a hawk

Yes enter the "broodies and their babies" contest! And even though Jessica has a nice and fluffy butt, probably better to show her and her chicks from the front view for the above contest. Good luck and enjoy your new chicken family.
