14 chicks, pullets and chickens mauled by female pit :(

12 of our chicks and pullets and 2 of our cousins who is our neighbor were mauled by a female pit that has pups. We went through the animal control for a long time and finally went over there and he apologised to us later he came and gave us $45.00 to help replace them. He turned out to be sorda nice. He is supposed to give us more he said but haven't seen it yet, so?

She attacked his dad 2, and left bite marks.

any dog comes in my yard, won't be leaving. drop it, bury it and keep tight lips. end of story. i don't care what anyone says. pit bulls were not, are not and will never be bred for house dogs. sorry about your loss though. i hop he does man up and replace all of your chickens. make sure you factor in not only the replacement cost, but also the food and anything else it cost you to get them to 12 weeks.

If that dog bit a person then I would call animal control. Besides that is she comes in your yard I would make sure she doesn't leave breathing.

She did but she got back to her yard before we got to her. Me and my dad ran over there dad with gun me with bow and arrow. I'm pretty good with it so likely I won't miss. He called her owner because he was doggysitting her for 6 weeks well that turned into 6mts. She abandoned her pretty much.
She had pups fro his dog. She is gone he called the woman that owns her.

In mah paht of the country, we allowed to SHOOT to kill any vahmint that be harrassin' ANY livestock on ah propitty, ayuh.

The dog isn't to blame - the owner/caretaker is - but, that said, if the dog has attacked a human, it needs to be put down. End of story.
