As many of you know, I have indoor pet ducks. We recently moved down to Alabama last august for my boyfriend to go to law school and for me to have an important surgery done by one of the best doctors in Birmingham. Since the school year is over, and I'm fully recovered, we decided to go back home to Chicago. My boyfriend david will be going back to AL in aug. for school, but i'm staying in chicago to help take care of my dad who's health is starting to fail.
Well we have for runners, in four different colors. Last time we moved, Ming Mei was only 2 weeks onl and fit nicely in a carrier between our seats in the truck. We didn't have that option this time do to there being a bench seat in our truck, and because there just wasn't enough room. Luckily, we decided to carry my car back on a trailer. I had set up the whole back seat ot the car as a ducky wonderland for th drive. It did get hot during the sunlight hours down south, so we had to roll the windows down for them a litte. We also bought them ice cold bottled water and filled a spray bottle with icy water to cool them off during stops. They were in diapers the whole time, so we had to stop frequently to change them.
You should see the looks we get at rest areas when we put our four ducks on leashes and walk them around. Our little black duck Vinny is rather personable and likes attention. He enjoyed being pet by anyone who wanted to whenever we stopped.
We stayed the night in a hotel and had to sneak them in to give them a bath. lol. Luckily the lady at the front desk kept falling asleep and didn't notice.
