Roosters tend to breed less in the heat as well. This may also be a factor.
the heat index is in the upper 80's, they mated fine in 100+ degree weather

If your flock is 14 months old, they would have been 2 months old at this time last year. That would put your rooster at reaching sexual maturity around Oct. - Nov. When they first get started, they are... frisky for lack of a better word. (Think hormone-driven teenage boys) Their hormones seem to level off a bit as they mature.I have extended light available for year round production..this did not happen last year
