My 1st Buff Orpington turned out to be a roo and I was able to trade him for a pullet the lady had. I am not 100% on her age but she's got to be around 14 weeks. Her comb and wattles have had no color until this week but the temps are now around 100 degrees. I've noticed her comb and wattle have been red at times, when she's hot, but when she cools down it changed back to her normal no color. First is this normal and does she look like a girl?

This photo was taken within minutes of the first one. She had been running around and got hot. Then when she cooled back down the color went away.

Here is my Buff Brahmas comb. She's about 7.5 weeks old and nothing else worries me yet. The comb has no color yet but it just seems so big.

The color change with your Orpington is normal, and she does look like a pullet. I'm not sure about your Brahma, but I'm thinking pullet for now. A side profile photo might help.

Your Orpington looks like a pullet.

I'm on the fence about the Brahma. The comb is pretty good sized, even though it's pale. Brahmas mature slowly, so sometimes don't pink up as soon as a production bird. maybe post pics again in 3-4 weeks?

Rooster signs on the Brahma will be the comb getting larger and redder, plus shading of darker gold on the wings. a pullet would be a nice even gold color like your Orp.
