Here's a more recent pic of the brahma.

I only intended to have 3 chickens but have 4 chicks. The Welsummer and Faverolles are girls and I'm pretty sure the Orpington is, as it's so different from the cockerel I had. It would be nice if the Brahma was female as well as this is the chick my son picked out after his 2 Orpingtons he picked out ( of course all from pullet bins) were boys. He'd be pretty sad to lose yet another chick.

Pumpkin is now 9 weeks old. Still no color to the comb but it's size still has me worried.

The Orp is a pullet, and I think the Brahma is, too. I've had Orps for 3 years but only have one Brahma, and she's about 4.5 months old now. My Brahma has a small pink comb that is slowly darkening--I suspect she may be approaching lay in a month or so. Brahmas definitely don't sport combs/wattles as big as the Orps do (at least the girls).

Oh I hope so. Other than the comb, nothing about her seems rooish at all.

Not really sure how old Cupcake is. She is either 16 or 18 weeks old and her comb and wattles are starting to take off.
