I have a mixed flock of 9 hens and 4 pullets. Today when I collected the eggs there was a very small speckled egg in the box. The only chicken I have who lays similar colored eggs is my RIR and she is 7 and tends to lay weak shelled eggs (this little one is strong!). Could one of the 14 week old chicks already be laying? I’ve never had one lay before 19/20 weeks.

Chicks in question are;

Silver Cukoo Maran
Austra White
Black Jersey Giant
Cukoo Bluebar (better not be her lol)

I would say the above answers are correct. I am kind of curious though, does your AustraWhite look ready to lay? I was looking at them recently and some of the hatcheries (Meyer is one) claim they will lay as early as 12 weeks. I was skeptical because that seems way too young.

My Austra White looks the closest to being ready. There was a yolk. I guess time will tell. Here are the pullets.
