Hello,
I woke up to two of my chicks injured. The first one could be an accident with x object, but the second one convincied me it was a pecking issue. You can se where the beak grabbed the eyelid and pulled.
Im so distressed, i started them on water general antibiotics and cleaned the wound as carefully as i could and i applied antibiotics cream following the vets instructions.
Should i separate them totally from their mom? Or should i put the cage they are in in the coop? She throws a lot of dirt around so the eyes get filed with soil.
Should i take all chicks? Because in the 14 days this was the first injury (yesterday) and one new today. I dont know if its the momma hen or a fellow sister that is doing the pecking.
Im interested in your opinion.
The coup is 1.5m x1m, its one momma and 6 chicks and they move around quite a lot, separated from the other hens.
Thanks for your help,
Spela
