Mottled Houdan?

I'm going meet someone selling exotic chickens. My DH wants some mottled houdans. Are they able to be sexed as chicks? We would like 2 hens and a roo. What are some tips I can use to pick them out?

They can’t be sexed as chicks.

We got the only one they had left along with 3 polish chicks so it wouldn't be lonely. But we got one!
