Miracle Duck:
A few years ago, one of our ducks laid an egg under one of our broody bantam hens. We didn't notice that the egg was there until it hatched. Sadly, as soon as he emerged from his egg, he was rejected by the hen. It was a rainy day, and my sister went out to see if any of the chicks has hatched. She found him lying in the rain, barely breathing. She then brought him in and placed him on a heating pad, where the whole family crowded around him, worrying that he might die. Fortunately he fully recovered two long days later, and was running around with the rest of our ducklings. We welcomed him into our flock where he led a full life, until sadly he passed away last year. He will always be remembered and loved as the miracle that he was.
