This will be my first photo contest. My silkies should be hatching around at Pattie’s day. Guess one will be named lucky or patty. Which name do y’all like better?

Oh wow, cuteness overload!!! I love this little adorable facial expression!!!Not sure if this would count as an entry since she's not partially in the shell, but this picture just "cracks" me up

No, it’s a screenshot of my own video so I didn’t know if that counts or not. Not a big deal. We are going to hatch some out for Easter so maybe we will catch one thenAw, just out of the egg.By any chance do you have a non-screenshot of this picture?
How cute! Who won?View attachment 3415231was a race between these 3 to see who would lose the eggshell first =)
Aww... I love how the chick in the first picture is resting her head.
Congrats then! I can't wait to see your entries! This will be my first photo contest. My silkies should be hatching around at Pattie’s day. Guess one will be named lucky or patty. Which name do y’all like better?
That’s a perfect idea. I can use both names. My last round that we incubated last year had one we named hope because she had a little trouble. It was our first time trying incubating eggs and she scared me. She pipped first but pipped under the shell but she didn’t fully hatch until after the other ones came and kind of knocked her around a bit. She is healthy and laying and these will be her Babies we are incubating.Congrats then! I can't wait to see your entries! On the names, that's a hard one. Maybe if you hatch a pullet, name her Patty, and if you hatch a cockerel, name him Lucky. Or, just use both names? One named Patty and the other named Lucky?
(I actually had a Silkie cockerel named Lucky. He was a miracle hatch. His hatching mother abandoned his egg, which was the last egg, and my Mom finished hatching him out herself.)

I was wondering that myself. What are the ropes for? What do the ropes do
