15 out of 35 Quail eggs dead on day 8-9

I bought 30 Jumbo Wild eggs from hatchpoultryfarms.com and 35 came. I checked to see if any were bad today and 15 were. Why are so many dead. It was in the mail a little longer than expected,( 5 days). I know this makes hatchability go down. I don’t know the humidity, but I’ve been adding the water that I read I was supposed to. I’ve also kept It at 99.5-100.3 degrees. Any tips?

Had they started to develop or were they clear?
If they were clear, it may have been from the delay in setting because you also don't know how old the eggs were before they sent them.

The fertile ones had eyes and beaks and wings and legs, infertile had nothing but a swirly mix of white and yolk

How many of the 15 were clear/not fertile?

In the candlelight they were all clear, when I cracked a couple open they made a yolkey whitey mess. No chicks.

It could have been the long storage time, breeder nutrition or time of year among other things.

I wouldn't buy from that person again.

Do you have a couple of calibrated thermometers in your incubator to keep an eye on the hot or cold spots?
