I have a 15 wk old orphington hen down .. my white leghorn rooster has been a quick devloper has crowd and tried mounting since 12 wks in age. Any ways he mounted her (granite hes a little fella compared these big girls) last monday and after that she did not get up and today makes a week. I thought it was her leg. Bc it was swelled in the foot and hock .(thinking she sprained or twisted her leg). the swelling is gone in the foot for the most part but the hock is still swelled she wont walk nor stand so im thinking its in her back she keeps her toes drawled in sometimes.. her way of siting up or moving is resting her leg out with her hock on the ground .. shes eats and drinks great I have her sperated from others. Not weak either I keep her hydrated and belly full.. any one else has had this problem im sad to think I have to put her down..
