Having the same problem here. Both troughs are filled but humidity is 34%. Trying to figure out how to get the humidity up before lockdown this Monday.
I had this same problem... not sure how your humidifyer is set up
. Anyway, I scewered two sponges upright into a pan (well, an old salad container) so the fan is blowing on the sponges. Made my humidity jump 20% even though I removed my large dutch oven that was filled with water in the bottom, so I'd say it's working superbly.
Total cost: $2.59x2 for the big sponges + $.99 for a whole package of the wooden scewers (like you'd use for making bbq shishkabobs, or however you spell it!
)
You could also just try increasing the humidity in the room if you don't want to open the incubator again.
I found using wicks partially in the water container and partially out works really well to increase humidity without haveing to add another resevoir. I used paper towels, but strips of cotton or rope would work too. I put a tube into my incy such that I could refill the resevoirs and also put water directly onto the paper towels in case I need to raise the humidity quickly all without opening the lid.
