Hi Everyone,
I am looking for some advice please, Daisy is a 16 - 18 week old Mille Fleur Bantam who is suffering from a few things which I do not know whether they are connected or not, these are..
1. Her right leg seems to stick out a little to the side when she is walking and she feels awkward walking on it - I have checked for bumblefoot but there seems to be no symptoms of that, she has feathered feet and where the new feathers are growing it looks a little sore, so I have sprayed this with an anticeptic, she also has these redness on her knee joints (If chickens have Knee joints) these have also been sprayed with anticeptic - it is on both feet & legs but her left one does not seem to bother her.
2. She does not like extending her head up like she usually does, instead she keeps it in close to her body - between her shoulders.
3. She seems to have one side of her breast more protruding than the other side - so not even.
I have looked at the symptoms for Marek's and I do not think it is that - or maybe it is ?
Maybe someone could shed some light on what this may be please.
She is a free range chicken who lives with all the chickens listed below on my signature and at night she sleeps with her friend (The Mille Fleur Roo who we bought with Daisy as a pair) my Buff Cochin Bantam Hen, My Cochin Roo and my Wyandotte Hen - none of these have shown any of the same symptoms.
Can you help ?
Many Thanks
Dr Rob.
P.S She has currently taken up residence in our bath so she is in isolation from the rest of the flock, she is eating and drinking well and her stools are normal.
