Well my female Pekin is now 16 weeks old and my mallards are 15 weeks for one set and 13 weeks for the rest . Then of course the baby at 8 weeks old? I forget I'll have to check the calendar lol.
Anyway, will the Pekin and older Mallards be laying soon? Will they do it in the coop or should I be watching the yard and pools? Do they need calcium added? Or do they not lay the first year? I tried googling but found fifty different answers. ( yes I exagerated lol ) Also will there be any signs to look out for?

Thanks

1. My mallards usually start laying around 22 weeks sometimes later. Larger breeds mature slower than bantam breeds so they pekins will most likely lay later.

2. Yes I would add calcium for the ducks when laying to help prevent any issues

3. They will not most likely lay in the coop. Mine always lay in the morning so if yours free range early in the morning you may find your eggs scattered through the yard

4. They lay the first year

5. Mine always get "heavier" in between their legs and almost sag to the ground when they are laying
