1602 Temp Issues?

I have a new 1602 Hovabator that I have added a fan. I cannot get the temp regulated. With or without the fan it will fluctuate between 97.5 and 101.5.
It is in a room with stable 70 degree temp. I have had three different themostats on it. All the same results. If I set it to kick off at 100 it will kick off and the temp will continue to rise to about 101.5 before it falls then it will not kick back on until 97.5.
I have been spoiled by my 1588, no such issues. This bator was given to me new in the box and I would really like to get it working right so I can use it. Any ideas?

My 1602 picks temp. back up at 98.8 & drops at 100.5, but I have had these problems with mine also, dont know what to tell you cause I dont know myself, maybe thats just the way they are, which is not cutting it with me !!!!!!!

i have a hovabator 1602 no fan and had LOTS of trouble with temp fluctuations for about 10-14 days. then it settled down and i have 2 hatched 1 pipped on day 22. i really thought none would hatch with all the trouble i had but here we are

I had the same problem with mine even with the fan. I can't stand my 1602. Only suggestion is to sell it, and spring for a Brinsea Eco. That's what I did, and I wasn't disappointed in the least

I have got a new 1602 and it seems to working fine.
