18-19 wk old CCLB with a dry sneeze, sleepy, sometimes shakes head

Ugh! Im sorrry
Thanks, I just wish I knew how they got it. I had them since they were 2 days old. The coop was built for them. I brought in sand for the run so they were not on dirt. Covered the top so birds couldn't get in. But I did just recently start letting them free range in the evening. And I do have a lot of bird houses. But it is just frustrating.

It can be frustrating at times. Ive had my run arounds with coccidosis, lice, rats, mites, predators killing my fav girls...ugh, its exhausting sometimes. Especially when you put so much time and energy into keeping them safe and healthy. Buuuutttt, when things are going great..which is most of the time....chicken keeping is so fun! You'll get there again. Just have to get thru this. :hugs

Thanks! I just worry about any future ones coming in getting it. But I guess good it is happening now since I won't get more before next summer.

Nothing really. Eggs are totally safe. It passes from chicken to chicken only through dander. But he said to only add vaccinated chickens from now to give them a chance against it. Basically a herpes virus and most chickens have been exposed to it. They just don't get sick. So maybe all the stress (new diets, roosts moved around, etc) that was on them caused it to break out. I dunno. He said they need to be vaccinated at a day old because they are almost immediately exposed to it. My chicks came from 2 different places and both were large scale. So I guess I am not surprised. But still bummed.
