18 eggs overnight?!?!?!?

Our eight month old mallards are laying a lot of eggs. Started with one or two here and there. However, twice now we’ve found huge amounts overnight. Once 16 and now 18. Only have two ducks. Is this even possible? Everything I’ve read says they can only lay 1-2 per day.

Literally checking daily! Thats why it is so crazy! Some days no eggs, some days one. But twice with literally 16 & 18!!

They are only going to lay one each day. The eggs were likely laid over a 2 week span. The eggs were laid when you didn't get any. Those days they buried the eggs better.

It sounds like they were very good at hiding their eggs. I remember one time my ducks were very sneaky. They hide a bunch of eggs under the straw with one egg decoy on the top.
