We've been raising "outlawed" hens for nearly 4 months now. We filed obnoxiously long paperwork to prove that we met or exceeded the FOURTEEN requirements of Amherst newly adopted amendment to the town code. We were the the first applicant under the new law and by all accounts we should have easily been granted a permit. Instead, the Zoning Board of Appeals ruled against me for arbitrary and totally irrelevant reasons.
The ZBA has since been under pressure to reconsider. The meeting takes place tonight.
