This morning I went to let the chickens out of their coop . I was so supprised to find 2 eggs. Later this after noon I took a look and there was another egg. My question is what to do about feeding them I am just about done with with the finisher feed. Next will be laying feed. How should I introduce them to the new food? All at once since they have started laying?

From what I have been reading on here, you don't necessarily have to change to a layer, just add oyster shell free choice. If you already have the new feed you want to switch to, you can mix some in with what you have left until you finish it. I have roosters so no layer feed. But I read the higher protein feed helps with eggs taste and yolk color too... good luck! Congrats on the eggs! A few of mine started last week..

If you only have pullets and they are all the same age, I'd transition to layer now. You can mix it half and half with the finisher till that is gone.
If you do that, it would be a good idea to offer oyster shell in a separate container from this point forward.
Several eggs laid by a single hen without the extra calcium will quickly strip out calcium stores in her body.

X2, if you plan to use layer feed this is the way to go
