1903 "The Old Trusty Incubator" Antique bator~share/question

Quote:
X2 I do love to look at those old bators and hatchers, so cool.

The wafer thermostat predates electricity an was first used in incubators to open an close a baffle/valve to control hot air going threw the incubator coming off of a flame. When they started make the electric ones they kept the wafer an added a pressure switch for it to push instead of the valve.

I have the same incubator. Last year, I found it on Craigslist for $25.00 and have been in love with it ever since! It sat out in my barn for some time before I just had to bring it in the house. Having it out in storage was killing me! Anyhow, since the day it made its way in the house, I have used it as a side table. Oh the agony!! I truly want to figure out how to get it going and give it a try. It is missing the tray shown in your picture but otherwise seems complete. Im sure i could fashion a replacement for that part. If you ever gave yours a shot at hatching eggs, I'd really like to hear your experience.

Thanks!
