I have a first time broody sitting on 3 eggs that I should have left well enough alone. Today was day 5 and in my excitement to candle the eggs and see if I could make out anything at all I cracked one.
Thing is there was not a trace of blood in it or anything at all that looked abnormal. Does that mean the egg was never fertile to begin with? My broody does get off a few times a day, but not for very long. Should I leave the other 2 under her and hope for the best? Also, if she continues to sit I think I'll need to isolate her and her nest at some point. How long should I wait to do that? Thanks in advance for any advice.
