1st chick is out

I’d leave it alone at this point. You’re likely to do more harm than any good to try to take it out. To me, the big advantage of taking the turner out is that it will get all slimed by the hatching chicks. Taking it out makes clean-up easier.

Some people hatch with them upright in egg cartons and seem to do OK.
I agree with Ridgerunner Since its day 21 id leave them in.
If it were earlier I would for sure take the turner out. Ive heard ppl say theirs got a leg caught in it if you leave it in,.....But day 21 id leave it and take the chance.if one gets caught you may have to make the decision to open and save it or not and chance letting the others hatch with the lower humidity.

However if that happens your best bet is to spray water from a water spray bottle into the bator to raise the humidity before you grab the chick out quickly Keep the humidity from dropping much.
Worse would be to loose all the chicks or some with lowering the humidity by opening it and they shrink wrap.
Next time day 18 take it out and lay the eggs on the screen

i keep reading and not sure if i get the humidity thing. eggs have shells obviously. if i raise the lid and the humidity goes down for 5 minutes.seems to me it would take alot longer than that to get through a shell? if the humidity gets back up in 5 minutes how can that hurt. i would think a shell dont suck the humidity in nowhere near that fast?

yea i opened it for 5 seconds. i know humidity and all but i am excited.

Sit on your hands!! LOL
It HARD NOT to open it when you have a baby in there rolling the other eggs around but they will be ok for 24 hours for sure.Absorbing the yolk holds them at least that long or more.
dont forget when you put each one in the brooder don't forget to dip each ones beak tip for a quick second in the water bowl or they might not know to drink and die
Also add glass beads to the water at first so they cant climb in or they try and drowned themselves I have heard
Food they teach themselves to eat.
