1st egg today and oddly enough I got a second one.

WooHoo!
I got my first egg this morning... but strangely enough when I came home from work I found another layed in the same spot as the first... two of my chicks started on the same day.. go figure. Below are photos of the eggs (hopefully). They are both kinda small but maybe this is normal for first eggs???

The first pic is of the first egg, the white egg is store bought for comparison, the second is the second and the third are both the new eggs.

Congrats on your first eggs! Its always a suprise, even though you know theyre gonna lay eventually. Isnt it great?!?! I love it when my pullets start laying, the newness doesnt wear off for months!!

I still have some time to go before my first girls will be old enough to produce, but I do seem to remember from my childhood that the first eggs are typically smaller.
