:jumpyThis is day 22 & I have 8 eggs that I placed in a carton, in my still air incubator 4 days ago. Have not heard/seen anything until 7 hours ago. The first egg began to pip. I did hear chirping a little. I left it alone, left the house. Now egg #2 is pipping, NO further progress on egg #1. I hear minimal chirping. Fearful things are going south. The temp is registering 99-100 degrees, the humidity is 69%-72%. Is it too cool? Is it too humid? Do I need to take the eggs out of the cardboard carton? Also, I have 16 other eggs on day # 19 in the same incubator NOT in carton. Can anyone advise me on what to do or not do?

I think it sounds pretty good. I was told 101.5 at the top of the eggs for a still air lg, but mine hatched on days 18-19 so I think that was a little high. Several of mine took 12-24 hours from pip to hatch and did just fine so don't make yourself too crazy yet.

I'd put the other ones in a carton too or the hatchlings will amuse themselves playing egg soccer. If you do get into the bator to do that take the whole thing into a hot steamy (running hot shower) bathroom so you don't mess up your temps and humidity.
