1st hatch - ducks. Mistakes were made. Advice appreciated

Any updates?
We are down to 1. It externally pipped yesterday around 3pm so its been 24 hrs. I can see its beak and its making movements with its mouth like its eating. Maybe still absorbing the yoke? The other had 2 air pockets, one each end of the egg and it internally pipped some time in the night into the smaller of the pockets. I was too late with the safety hole. This has definitely been more complicated than I imagined when I bought the incubator and just followed the directions that come with it. Done a lot of reading since then and have identified several things we did that contributed to the failure of this misadventure. I feel a little better about moving forward with the next hatch once this little guy finishes his hatch. I'll try to get some pictures when he hatches. Thanks so much for your help!

Any updates?
It kicked its shell off last night but the shell is still attached. After reading similar threads I left it like it was and it has gotten shorter but hasn't dried up yet. The baby is basically on his side and hasn't been able to turn over. Its very active kicking its feet and scouting around the incubator on its side. Not sure what to do at this point, if anything at all. I feel like it's going to need to start eating and drinking soon. Hoping its not the intestines that have fallen out. It does seem to be uncomfortable for the baby. Should I cut it off near the shell? There isn't any bleeding. Thanks
