1st soft shelled egg

I have 3 laying pullets that have been laying for 3 months and all has been good. today however one of the shells was paper thin. Is this an issue? the layer mash has calcium in it and I also offer free choice oyster shells.

It happens. If it happens once it's not big deal. If it continues to occur, then you do have an issue. For now, I wouldn't worry about it.

I've gotten a few of those before and I've never worried about it. When it happens, it is probably just a glitch in their systems.
