This is my first time with a broody and also her first time.. because it is still cold outside I have had her in the house in a brooder/plastic bin... made her a nest in there and there is about 12” for her to come out to eat. Just wondering if anything special or different to do from now till chicks hatch? She has 3 eggs that look good when candled! I have been taking her out of the bin and onto the floor/ puppy pad each morning and she eats scrambled eggs only, drinks and ooops, then I put her back

I don't know how cold you are seeing. This thread might be interesting.

Winter Brooding

I don't isolate my broody hens like that, mine hatch with the flock, so I don't have any real experience with what you are doing. I'd keep doing what you are until you see pipped eggs or hear a chick, then leave her alone. If possible maybe give her a little more room for food and drink and just leave her locked up. If she needs to come off to eat or drink she will but when mine start to hatch the broody usually don't leave the nest until she brings the chicks off.

Good luck!
