Thanks! I have an incubator so they lay on their side and I turn them 3 times a day, and I do see the embryo and it looks like it’s moving. So I just wondered if that was the problem. But they lay on their side under the hen so maybe it’s normal. LolOne of my bsl eggs did that early in the brooding process (they’re due to hatch under my hen around Tuesday). The only different thing I noticed about it was that I never actually saw the embryo itself very clearly; I think it was hiding behind the yolk. Development has continued as normal as far as I know, I’m going to candle them again tonight before I put her on lockdown (she’s in the coop so for the last 3 days I’m going to bar her from the rest of the hens since she won’t get up during this time anyways). I’ll let you know what development looks like today on day 17 and update you on whether or not it hatches
Thank you! I do see it move. I guess they shift depending on what side the egg is laying on. That would make sense lol.The chicks move around in the shells. I took some video of the chicks moving around in their shells. I'll see if I can find it.
Looks good to me! This is only my second hatch, and I don’t have an incubator so I’m counting on momma hen to do a good job! Sorry I forgot to get back to you; the bsl egg looked as full as the others however I was having to candle in partial daylight and I couldn’t get a picture because my phone light is brighter than any flashlight I own. Today is day 20 for mine so I’m hoping and praying for some chicks in the morning!
