1st time hatcher.....

My incubator arrived today (A Brinsea Octagon 20 ADVANCE EX digital egg incubator package) !!! I can hardly wait to do this.

I ordered six (6) Blue Silkie Hatching eggs from mypetchicken.com.

Does anyone have any "If I would have known that" advice for me, I would GREATLY APPRECIATE IT. I am reading everything I can get my hands on so that I am confident and calm during this whole event.

Lets see . Yours has the fancy humidity and temp controls or what not right. You should be good there. I havent hatched in one of those but The first time I hatched I wish someone would have told me that putting the eggs in would make my nice steady temp drop . Then I wish they would have told me not to touch it cuase it would go back up on its own after the eggs warmed up .
Oh and that it would be severly addictive and I would be up to 3 incubators wishing for another .

Oh, I am going to actively try and control myself, I cannot have to many chickens where I live now!!
