1st time hatching quail

It is my first time hatching quail. It is day 17 and two have hatched (20 still in the incubator). When will the others hatch? Is it common that they hatch days apart?

What type of quail are they?

Coturnix quail.

Generally cotournix are 18 day incubation.

So the 2 that hatched on 17 are a pinch early. Today or tomorrow is the expected hatch day.

When they do start they will pop out like popcorn.

So sit back and relax it may happen throughout the day

I did candle them and they looked good. I can't see any pipping yet.

3 more have hatched this morning- 5 in total now. Hopefully a few more will hatch today.

We now have 12. There has been a total of 4 days between þeen a total of 4 days between the first and the last (to date) not sure why. Very cute.
