Congrats on your first few Japanese quail. I love mine, and the Italian ladies are great egg layers, lay consistently every day for at least 3-4 months.

Just a couple photos of some of my fav breeders, and a few of my 2 week old babies, I have some hatching weekly. I also included a pic, of one of my ladies, not for sure what kind she is...but her eggs hatch out 50% Texas A&M, and 50% maybe a Tibetan? (not certain on the darker bird).

Will probably stop breeding her, because it seems genes may play a big deal in birth defects. She is breeding with the golden Italian male pictured, but the babies seem to have a harder time hatching, and are much weaker at birth.
