get them out of your bedroom! chicks shed their down like dander. Look around your bedroom and you will find a very fine dust. It's not dust, it's chick down and can cause the sneezing and allergies you are experiencing. do not try and dust it off, that just spreads it. Use a damp cloth and wipe it off. Then wipe dry. brood your chicks outside or in the garage , not in the house.

They can be puffed up because they are cold. Your temp shoud be aroud 90 the first week and then turn it down 5 degrees a week until you reach 70 degrees. you can also tell how the chicks are reacting to your brooder temp by how they act. If they are huddled together under the light , they are cold. If they are staying away from the light they are hot. if they are gathered loosely undet he light, they are fine.
get them off the newspaper. it is a slick surface and can cause your chicks legs to splay out like they are trying to do the "splits". Use a layer of that cheap waffle weave drawer liner from the dollar store. Or paper towel. Then after the 1st week, go to
Tractor Supply or your feed store and buy a bale of hardwood shavings. Not softwood, hard wood. At
Tractor Supply, it is the white bale, not the yellow bale. take out the other flooring and use a couple of inches of hardwood chips instead.
