2 1/2 day old chick wont eat or drink

How can I get my 2 1/2 day old chick to eat and drink? I already dipped its beak into the water and food. What else can I do?

Try "pecking" at the food and water with your finger. I do that and they practically attack the food!

I had the same thing happen with two chicks in my last hatch

I just kept dipping their beaks a couple of times a day in the water and telling myself that chicks don't have to eat or drink for 3 days, that it how they can be safely shipped, and I finally I saw the first one drink, and the next day the second one started drinking

So hang in there and keep doing what you have been doing. They learned to eat by watching the other chicks. Today they are happy, healthy 6 week olds!
