I've looked through photos of many chicks and I'm just not sure what this little sweetie might be. She (he) came as an extra with a group of broilers from a hatchery. She had chipmunk stripes when she was tiny.

Thanks.

It is an Easter Egger. Which is a chicken that carries the gene to lay colored eggs. Hatcheries generally include them as a bonus chick with orders. Chances are it will be a boy since it was free, but sometimes they will be girls. Very cute though.

It looks to me like it has a single comb and feathers on it's legs?? I could be wrong, but that might help ID it. Could you post more pix??

I have to disagree with EE. First of all, the bird has a single comb, instead of a pea comb. Second, it has yellow legs, not green. Third, although all EEs don't have beards, most do, this one does not. Fourth, I could be wrong, but it looks like a bantam, and no hatchery that I've ever seen carries bantam EEs.

If it's a bantam, my guess would be an OEGB

Although I'm certainly no expert I was thinking EE because it looks just like an EE chick I got... Could be wrong though.. I do think that the only hatchery I've seen that carries Bantam EE's is My Pet Chicken when I was looking through their breeds.

My Pet Chicken does not sell bantam EEs, they only sell standard EEs, which come from other hatcheries. The bird they have as the pic for their EEs is a bantam ameraucana.
