She came from a bin labeled Amercauna, I knew that meant Easter Egger, just giving the background.

She's about 2 1/2 weeks old in this picture.

I've been looking at pictures all week of other peoples EE chicks, and she doesn't look nearly as brown to me as everyone elses, more of a gray brown and even some black. She's got a big dark stripe down her back and some white stripes under the wings. Pale gray chest and tummy. Her comb looks totally flat to me from the front, but I can see in this pic it does have a little bump there. Her legs are olive colored. I know she's probably mixed with something else, but what? She's super calm with me and my daughter, feisty with the other chicks, but definately not looking like alpha hen. She feathered out first and grew faster than the other chicks too. Any ideas on what she might be mixed with? I say she because she was sexed as a pullet, and I think she's probably still much too young to show any rooster signs, but if you see something....

Any theories on what she might be mixed with would be appreciated. She's my daughters favorite (probably mine too) she's so calm and she'll sleep in my hand if I hold her. She'll come up to my hand if I set it in the box she's never scared of me.

Well I have several hatchery stock EE's and she doesn't have the same coloring as any of mine and most of mine are all different colors. I wish I could help, I think the colors are very nice, and it sounds like it has an awesome personality. Good Luck:)

Easter Eggers come in a lot of different colors

She looks like a normal hatchery EE to me. . . Probably just a silver duckwing, while the others seen were colors like BBR or a mix of different odd colors.

The great thing about EE's is that they are like a box of chocolates you never know what you might get.

Ooo she looks just like mine! My little EE is 2 weeks old now, and she is starting to look like an adorable wittle hawk. I have heard some people referring to these types of EEs as 'chipmunks' as a baby, but have never heard of their formal name. Let me know what you find out!
