Ive ordered pullets twice and both times got males. The other times were half pullets and half straight run.

When I placed my order, they offered 2 free chicks. The Meal Maker is supposed to be female, and the Homestead Helper is a male.

I hope they don't mess that up, since I opted for both.

Yeah, I think getting an opal legbar as your free mystery chick isn't too uncommon because they have an excess every hatching (due to their excessive price of $70). I've seen other threads where people have reported receiving one as their mystery chick as well. So maybe you'll get lucky like I did!

Mine are 11 weeks now - I ordered 12 pullets and my meal maker was an Opal Legbar roo. I was also surprised to get such an expensive breed but also thought I’d get a pullet. He’s so handsome, I’m not complaining!

My chicks hatch on the 29th, so I'm planning for them at arrive on October 1st. I'd love the 30th, but I'm not overly close to the hatchery. I order the Meal Maker and the Homestead Helper. I only ordered 4 birds, all BBS Orpingtons.
