Hi everyone, I am a first time duck owner. These babies are 2 and 3 days old. My daughter was given some eggs. Out of 10 eggs we only had 2 survive. After 33 days in an incubator we assisted the hatch as they were all looking bad when candled and figured we had nothing to loose at this point. We had 5 alive but lost 3. Shortly after hatch. The only one who actually pipped and hatched unassisted was the Pekin. (We believe it’s a pekin) the smaller one maybe a Runner (any opinion on actual breeds appreciated. The little one had a rough first 24 hours. Lethargic, couldn’t move around or lift its head.We gave it Nutradrench around the clock yesterday and a few bites of moist mash. Magically today she’s like a new duckling. Still a little wobbbly and shakey but much better moving around and practically eating on her own. However I noticed she isn’t really pooping much, that I noticed anyway. Is this a cause for concern since she hasn’t really had solids? Her bellybutton cord (we snipped) it was dried to the egg still has a tiny bit left like a newborn baby. Here is video of first bath tonight, they were sticky from being in bowl of moister duck crumble. Can anyone tell me if they look normal or see any concerns. and breeds please. Much appreciated

They are cuties! Hope that is warm water they are in. And does the one on the right have splayed legs or is it just in the water its legs are splaying out? There is nothing open on the belly?
How's the poop today. Check often for poopy butt which means it will have to be cleaned with warm water. But usually, once they begin eating the poop just starts to come. Also placing them in warm water usually get them to poop too.
As for breeds we need better pics of them dry and standing.

Thank you Miss Lydia for replying. Definitely pooping today, Maybe,TOO MUCH. LOL… and yes the water was warm, and belly button was healed up, just a little dried up piece was left. I was wondering the same thing on the legs, but his gape is MUCH LESS today. If they are not completely under him by Monday, I will take him to the vet. I will post new photo and hopefully you can help me identify their breed. I was wondering if he is indeed a runner maybe that’s why his legs look a little different.

Miss Lydia, Thank you so much for your reply. Today is a much better day. Nice healthy poops. Yay!!! I was overly excited to see him poop so much. I was wondering the same on the legs, but today it so MUCH better. I will take him to vet on Monday for a checkup to be safe. Yes the water was warm and his unbiblical cord was completely dried up before he ever touched water. Here are the pictures of them all dry, I hope someone can tell me the breeds.

Looks like a first duck is a buff duckling and the second one is a Pekin or white layer.

However is looks like your first duckling an infection on its beak or something like that. @Miss Lydia does that look like a bacterial infection too you?

Those are ridiculously adorable!! My muscovies had discoloration on their bills when they were babies. Could be pigment.

I'm not sure on the tip of the bill. Maybe just discoloration but since she's taking to the vet they can have a look.
They are so precious ❤️and look very healthy. Yaya for poops too.

The last two looks like a pekin but they’re too little to be sure.
