I have been pouring over how to sex EE chicks for weeks. I am convinced that out of my 8, 2 are pullets. That will leave me with 6 roos. I have more chicks coming to make up my "deficit."
However, I was planning on keeping one roo. When should I be able to tell who would make the best roo? I would like to keep one that has the blue egg gene. I also want a roo with a balanced approach to flock protection / friendly to me and my family. What characteristics should I be looking for?
