Hello, I have 20 chicks that are almost 3 weeks and some of them have rock like crops which I know is unusual. I gave them a little bit of olive oil to try and help them but I don’t really know the amount to give and how many times should I be giving it to them. Also is there anything else that can help break this down any quicker. Any help is highly appreciated!!!

You can try to feed them fermented feed. They are easier to digest. And will help soften up their crop. Also make sure that every morning before you feed them that their sacs are empty. Are their sacs extra big, or just hard?

We used to have this problem with one of our chicks and after massaging it and feeding both the fermented feed and apple cider vinegar she became fine.

They’re hard and just a tad bit bigger than usual. Thank you for replying!

Check the crops early in the morning after they have slept some, to see if they have emptied. Do they have a brooder light on at night or are they in the dark? What are they eating? If they are getting out on grass or eating things other thN chick starter, they need granite chick grit to help digest foods.

Yes I will check them in the morning. They have a light on at night and they are eating medicated feed for chicks. Thank you !

Pictures would help
their crops aren’t as protruding as earlier and I found some ACV that is organic and has “mother” in it but it also contains lemon which idk if I should give to the chicks. Thank you!
