2 broken legs

@WVduckchick @Wyorp Rock @casportpony

My thought would be a sling to keep her elevated and off the legs. But I don’t have ducks so I tagged a few others who know more then I.
That would be a good idea @FlyingNunFarm Hopefully the others have more suggestions.

@fuzzy ducklin' I'm sorry to hear about your duck, I don't know much about them, but here's some photos of slings - this may give you some ideas (for more images Google "chicken sling")

Thanks guys. I will work on a sling.

Let us know how it goes. I would love to see what you come up with (photos:)). A sling does not have to be elaborate, just sturdy enough to support your patient. I don't even know how big a Pekin Duck is:oops: A lot of people use a tote and clip the fabric to the sides.
In the he video, it looks like a T-Shirt was stretched over the whole tote, then leg holes were added. I do recommend that you make a hole for droppings to fall through.
I hope your duck recovers soon.

Would need to be a sturdy laundry basket for a pekin. Adults can be heavy! :lol: But I love the laundry basket idea for the view and ventilation.

As soon as you feel comfortable with doing so, swim therapy will also be beneficial to help rebuild the muscle and coordination. I would provide as much water time as possible.

I’ve never seen it done, but the thought of a sling in a deep tub, with water up to about the bottom of the sling just occurred to me for ducks. Hmmm.

I think you are onto something there!
