I had a hen hatch 2 chicks last year and she decided to do it again this year so I gave her 5 eggs. Another went broody at the same time so I gave her 5 eggs. Under one hen there ended up being 2 squished eggs and she was left with 3. One tried to hatch but the membrane wouldn't come off and it did not make it. The other han has hatched one cute little baby but still sitting. How long do I wait for the others to hatch? The one hatched yesterday.
My other question may resolve itself if the one hen doesn't successfully hatch any, but if they both have chicks can I put them both in a coop together with the babies? They can't stay where they are because the fence wire around that coop is not small enough to keep babies in. I have a separate coop for babies. I will move as soon as the others hatch or don't hatch.
