Hi there! I've loved ducks since I can remember. One of my favorite things to do is searching out ponds to feed them and just watch them swim and play. At the beginning of May, we set out to find such a pond and didn't see any ducks. The next week my husband surprised me with 2 little yellow ducklings of my very own!! So I made the assumption they were pekins (he bought them from tractor supply and I don'tknow exactly how old they are, I'm guessing a week old when I got them) and researched how to raise ducks. Everytime I was able to find an article here.

At one point a couple weeks after my little yellow (Willard and Wilma) turned into big yellows, I was worried one of my adorable little ducks wasn't going to make it so I bought 2 little brown ones just in case. Enter Duck Norris and Quakie Chan; my 2 khaki campbells. I don't think they were at the store too long before I snatched them up. But I soon realized how much different personalities could be!! Willard and Wilma love me, I'm pretty sure they imprinted on me and they tend to stay pretty close to me while Duck and Quackie will run if I get within arms reach. Luckily, they took to Wilma pretty quickly.

I think I've read every duck thread available but I still have questions. If someone could point me in the right direction of the best pekin and khaki Campbell resources, I would much appreciate it.

Bonus points if it can help me figure out the sex of these guys. I keep my fingers crossed every day that I only have one drake but I'm not sure yet. Voices haven't really changed much for Willard and Wilma and Duck and Quackie are getting their big kid feathers so I hope I don't see green heads developing. *pretty sure I'm hearing a quack developing with Duck Norris. Or it thinks it's a goose...

Hello, and Welcome to BackYard Chickens! :frow

Fill free to ask any questions! You may have to wait a few more weeks, but you can try posting a video of the ducks talking and we may be able to tell the sex.
Sweet, thanks! It's hard to isolate who's talking but I'll try my best!
