2 chick questions (maybe more in future)

So first question is how do you tel a male chick from a female chick? If it depends on breed, then my chicks are serama chicks. Others are serama/ red pyle bantam chicks, and serama/leghorn chicks.
second is how many weeks old can they go outside in the winter? (yes i have heat lamps)

Hi, you are able to tell a chicks gender at about 10-12 weeks old when different sexual characteristics come. Boys will develop hackle, sickle and saddle feathers and will have a larger distinct comb, girls (pullets) will not and their combs should be small and lacking in colour. Chicks must be kept under a heat lamp until fully feathered which is generally about 5-6 weeks old. At about 5 weeks they can go outside for a little bit if the weather is warm.
