ok so ive just candled my silkie/frizzle/sizzle eggs again and i was completely amazed i am 100% positive there are two chick embryos growing in one of the eggs ive heard of double yolks before but didnt realise or think to put it more simply that it could ean both yolks where fertile and grow chicks is there any hope for either chick or is it final curtain when they get a bit bigger and there is no more space surely they cmannot both hatch can they?

I have heard of them hatching before I know there was a post a couple weeks ago about this too. I had Twin Ducks in a egg but they quit on me on day 20 of incubation. I know someone with more ifno will be along so i will give ya a bump till they do!
Good Luck!!

A little over a year ago there was a thread about this that had BYC transfixed.

I was screwing around on youtube the other night and saw 2 videos of double yolk egss hatching, they were hatched in '07 or '08 i can remember but the first ones both survived and 1 of the 2 from the second lived. I'm sure if you look around you can find them and the sucess stories. and i think the person that shot the videos is the owner. So you could probably e-mail them and get thier thoughts? I can try to find a link to the videos if you want. Found it! twin chickens!
and then there's twin chickens 2
hope this lifts your spirits, there is a chance!

a friend of mine had a double yolker hatch, it just so happens i have 1 in lockdown as well, up untill now both have been alive and kicking so fingers crossed

I have a question, not a comment on this post...

What are you using to candle these eggs to see this kind of detail? My BVs and EEs shells are to thick or dark to really see more than a shadow......

I just put them all in and wait

I'm glad your setting another batch by the way.
